Many small businesses suffered a great deal during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Some were forced to shut down permanently or temporarily. The companies that have survived the economic storm need our help more than ever to maintain stability. The solar industry is increasing despite the setbacks caused by the pandemic. In the second quarter of 2022, there were approximately 180,000 residential solar installations. This was the highest quarter for solar in this sector.

Small businesses genuinely power SunPower. With over 850 dealers collectively employing approximately 15,000 workers in local solar companies throughout the United States, SunPower is powered. The network is responsible for SunPower’s 427,000+ residential customers and has helped SunPower install more than 3.61 gigawatts of solar power across the United States. SunPower’s solar projects have generated 133 Terawatt hours (TWh), the equivalent of avoiding 94,000,000 metric tons of carbon emissions1. This was only possible with our dealer network.

SunPower launched its Dealer Accelerator Program in early 2022. This initiative invests in local solar dealers to advance the solar industry’s growth. SunPower offers financial support, business strategy assistance, and lead generation to dealers participating in the program. This helps these small businesses scale solar in areas of high growth. SunPower’s initiative is the next step in building on the industry’s momentum and preparing our dealers to succeed as they expand their businesses.

SunPower dealers can access various resources, including innovative programs like the DAP. These tools will help them to provide an exceptional customer experience for all homeowners. Our annual Dealer Conference and online training courses help keep dealers up-to-date with the latest solar and technical information. Innovative digital solutions help simplify the buying process for dealers and homeowners. Customized designs and savings estimates are available to homeowners from their laptops, tablet, or phone.

SunPower’s goal is to provide homeowners with affordable and sustainable energy. We can only achieve this by working closely with our dealer network. Dealers’ regional expertise, knowledge of local codes, and utility requirements allow them to serve their local community best.
